The Program
We offer a clinically oriented workstation based course designed to meet Level 1 or Level 2 ACC competency guidelines while training you to perform and interpret CT coronary angiograms. Our class is a workstation based course that is led by highly experienced Level 3 certified instructors. We keep our educational standards high and we take pride in training physicians to an expert level in cardiac CT.
In our experience, physician trainees learn best by manipulating the images on their own workstations and working through the cases in a comprehensive and systematic fashion. We do not believe that a course in which physician trainees passively watch an expert review 50 cases a day trains you to interpret cardiac CT. Without manipulating the data and committing to a diagnosis, the required expertise is not obtained. We believe this may result in liability for the physician and the training program. We have specifically designed our course to keep this high quality of training, while minimizing the time you are away from the clinic and your family.
This three day program is designed to teach you how to interpret and perform CT angiograms and to move you towards Level II ACC accreditation. You will have individualized instruction on your own 3-D workstation and learn how to interpret CT angiograms (not just listen to lectures). On average, you will review over 20 CT angiograms a day and get a solid overview of important didactic CTA concepts. You will review a total of approximately 60 cases during the course.
